motos

Volunteers are forbidden to ride on them, but motos are one of the most convenient ways to get around Cambodia. They're usually about 125cc, and are fascinating mostly because of the people/things that are sitting, stacked, piled, tied to, or otherwise located on the moto. Here's a brief and incomplete list:

a family of 7 (amazing, really); gigantic blocks of ice; countless upside-down, live-but-docile chickens (for further reading on the docility of chickens see Bob's blog); 4 queen-sized mattresses; 1 large pig in a basket; many small pigs - piglets - in many small baskets; tall stacks of empty crates, tires, and other non-heavy objects; short stacks of bags of rice, beans, water-bottles, etc., often with people riding these stacks; oh, and how could I forget coconuts?

For the sake of brevity I have omitted the countless objects - including other motos - that can be towed by motos.
